The Branch’s latest Fair was held on Sunday 26 November at the ‘Taunton Holiday Inn’ was very successful as always, and provided a significant profit which will enhance Branch funds, ensure our continued viability. This in turn will allow us to continue to invite the highest quality Speakers to our Branch meetings etc.
Our success is of course judged by more than just financial gain and we furthered our relationships with other BHI Branches and horological societies etc who visited and supported us on the day, and also our stallholders, with over one hundred and twenty five visitors.
We welcomed visitors of all ages, and there were numerous informal discussions with the usual banter on horological matters!
Several visitors expressed an interest in joining the Institute and in attending our Bristol Branch meetings. As always all are welcome members and non members.
Committee members (particularly Owen) collectively made enormous efforts to enable these excellent results, and we look forward to holding our next Fair on Sunday 28th April 2024. We will also hold a second Fair on Sunday 10th November 2024, so don’t forget to add these dates to your new 2024 diary!
We have decided to increase Fairs entrance fees slightly from £3 to allow for an increase in venue hire costs; there is still no fee to attend Branch meetings at the Globe.
We hope to be accepting online payments for Tickets, there will be two ticket types, a General admission ticket £5 pp this will give you access to the fair at 9am, we will also be making available a early bird Ticket £10 pp this will give you early access from 7:30am. All ticket holders will be given a wrist strap which you can use to regain access to the fair as many times as you like during that day.
Thank you everyone for your continued support.
